Here at Be Smarter Than A Virus, not only do we encourage vaccinations and responsible behavior, we also value timely and actionable information about SARS-CoV-2, variants and behavior and trends.
No matter where our customers live, we want you to know that we are here for YOU.
In addition to the global Covid-19 pandemic, much of our world has also been experiencing an infodemic- as individuals who have stood to profit off the suffering of others have spread often dangerous misinformation to unsuspecting global citizens.
(FYI: One of the goals for this site is for a majority of all proceeds to go to charity. We're not set up for that yet, but I can assure you- that is indeed our goal and we are actively working on it. We will share that news when things are in place, but this is not a money-making venture. Simply put, unlike those who are actually making money selling ideas or "cures" for a virus with no known cure, we are different. We want our customers- and all people- to avoid infection and avoid infecting others!)
When "Be Smarter Than A Virus" was first conceived, it was as away to encourage those we know and love to re-educate and re-familiarize themselves with SARS-CoV-2 and Covid-19 by sharing fact and science-based news stories from trusted news and information sources that stayed away from anything even resembling politics.
Since the formation of "Be Smarter Than A Virus," many countries have developed their own information and awareness campaigns to encourage vaccinations and responsible behavior among their citizens. We here at Be Smarter Than A Virus applaud this- but are also very aware that many individuals may still not perceive SARS-CoV-2 or Covid-19 with the respect it deserves.
Here, in order to counter misinformation which evolves just as fast- if not faster- than the virus itself, we will regularly update you with key stories and developments about SARS-CoV-2 and the global Covid-19 Pandemic- but we should by no means be your only source for information. We encourage getting as much quality and science-backed information from sources you know and trust. As an example, in the United States that may be the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention or your state or local health service. Or maybe your healthcare provider.
We sincerely hope every post we make here will help you, your friends, your family and your loved ones to #BeSmarterThanAVirus! ;-)
